Heyyy Creative!
Welcome to Creators Corner, this is my weekly newsletter that I email out to the creators on my email list. I have decided to now add it to my blog as people that aren’t on my email list might also be interested!
The Creators Corner is a weekly newsletter that comes out on Tuesdays for creators and creativity lovers. I will share a few different things each week including, a creative journaling prompt, a creative exercise and any other stuff that tickles my fancy each week.
The Creators Corner is your weekly creative check in.
Partially because I find sometimes I lose my connection with my own creativity as I figure something like this will help me, and hopefully it will also help you.

Your Creative Journal prompt
Journaling is hugely helpful to me when I’m trying to work through something, so each week I’ll share a journaling prompt for you to reflect on and write about.
It’s always really nice to have a special journal to write in, but anything will do.
This week’s prompt:
When do you feel most connected to your creativity?
There are moments when creating feels easy… ideas flow, self-doubt disappears, and your creativity knows exactly what to do. I love it when this happens.
This week’s prompt is about seeing if you can identify any patterns to those moments. What was happening around you? Were you alone? What were you working on? What did it feel like? Is there a particular time of day that this happens more frequently? How frequently does it happen?
Take a few minute and jot down your thoughts in a notebook.
Creative News
So, this week Canva had a big conference where they shared all their incredible updates. You can watch it here. I love Canva and it has changed my business in so many ways as the tool that I use to create my books. But this week they dropped a BOMBSHELL … Canva is giving away the Affinity Suite to everyone… for free… forever 😱.
This is a game changer for creators as it gives you a brilliant tool for publishing, photo manipulation and illustration, all in one package. I already had Affinity and use it a lot to manipulate SVG’s but I am excited to try this new version. You can download the Affinity Studio here.
Your Creative Quickie
Creative Quickies is five-minutes of creative play designed to get you out of your head and connect with your creativity. Each week you’ll get a short, simple prompt that helps you reconnect with your imagination. No pressure, no big goals, just a quick creative warm-up to help you feel inspired and to go forward creatively with your day.
This week’s creative quickie (and please don’t over think this!), is to grab a sheet of paper and a pen or pencil and take 5 minutes to draw your happy place.
Happy drawing!

What’s up for me this week
This week was a good creative week for me 🎉 (and not every week is for sure!).
Firstly I got this first newsletter out, definitely a reason for celebration 🥳.
I also managed to create a new Custom GPT to help business owners and KDP Creators to come up with a Journal, Planner or Tracker that suits a particular audience and goal. You can check it out here if you missed the email earlier this week.
I finally updated my work with me page with most of my products (not all of course, because that is a step too far lol).
Lastly, on impulse, I have decided to create a Dated Planner Live session on November 14th after a Voxer conversation with one of my KDP Creators Club members.
That is going to be super fun! I really love doing live trainings with my audience. Keep an eye out for an email from me, probably tomorrow, with more info on that if you are interested, but if you are a Dated Planner Training customer, you get it for free.
My daughter is coming home from uni for the weekend 🎉. I have missed her absolutely loads over the last few weeks. Tell me it gets easier 😭.
Lastly, this isn’t really about me, but John Lewis (for my non-UK friends, JL is one of our big UK department stores), has released their Christmas ad this week, where love lives. John Lewis is known for their amazing Christmas ads each year, and this one, while simpler than previous ones, really hits the mark. It is a tear jerker for sure and has really made me appreciate how much my kids have brought to my life. If you’ve got kids, grab your hanky!
The Creative Act: A way of being
You can read it all the way through or you can dip in and out when you are looking for a bit of creative inspiration.
You can check it out here on Amazon.
And now they have a paperback version!
It’s a great book to help you to tap into your creativity and find your best creative self.
Honestly, a must have on every Creators bookshelf.
