“I loved Julie’s course. I finished with my first book published on Amazon and my KDP account set up. I had another KDP course, but it was so complicated I didnt even get anything done. Julie shows you how you can do each step of the process yourself using Canva and other simple tools, she makes the process fun, and by the end of it you’re more confident to publish again! I feel like this was the perfect way to get started with KDP publishing. Thank you!”

Does this sound familiar?

You have always wanted to publish your own book, but...

  • You feel overwhelmed and don't know where to start?
  • There can be a lot to learn to take you through the process (and there are definitely some pitfalls)
  • You lack confidence in your ability not only to create the book, but to publish it and market it?
  • While you would love to write a book, you are just not sure you have it in you (this was me all over!)
  • You've tried finding out more about publishing books on Amazon but are struggling to put all the pieces together?

Publishing your own books is amazing, and here's why...

  • You will feel so much joy and pride when you hold one of your books in your hands and know that you've created it yourself and it exists in the real world.
  • You will be able to get your work and ideas out and in front of new people in a different way.
  • Brand or business recognition because you have books!
  • Instant author status without having to get a book deal.
  • Truly passive income once your book starts to sell (and what a buzz that is!)

Are you inspired to create and publish your own book?

The Book Creators Club is where you turn your ideas into design led books that sell on Amazon and beyond. You'll get live coaching, full trainings on the ins and outs of book creation and publishing, a full vault of templates and a community full of creative people.

“I didn’t think it would be that easy, fun and addictive to do it myself. I was tempted to try but too lazy to do all the research. I published my first notebook in one morning and got it printed in 4 days. It’s amazing and super exciting! Now I can’t wait to create more journals, workbooks from my courses and all kinds of books!”

A different kind of book

Most people think publishing a book means a lot of writing. It doesn’t.

There is a whole world of books led by design rather than words.

Design led books are books that support or entertain people.  They include journals, planners, colouring books quiz books, activity books and more. People buy these books in their millions and they are far quicker to make than a written book.  And once they are live, your print on demand partner will print and ship every copy for you. Your job is to develop the idea and create a fun and interesting book that serves an audience of your choosing.

Here are some of the different kinds of books you can create…

This is a super actionable program! I had my first notebook created in an afternoon, which felt so HUGE (but really wasn’t that much work) 🎉

The engine behind it all

What is Amazon KDP?

KDP stands for Kindle Direct Publishing. It is the print on demand arm of Amazon, and it is where almost every member publishes their first book.

No upfront printing costs

It costs you nothing to get your books printed. Amazon only prints a copy when someone buys it.

No stock to hold

Amazon prints, packs and ships every order for you. Though you can buy your own books at a hugely discounted rate if you want to.

A royalty on every sale

You earn a royalty on every book you sell, month after month, for as long as your book is live.

KDP is where we start, it is the simplest route to a published book, and it is still the heart of what I teach inside the club. Once your books are live, I will show you how to take them beyond Amazon too.

your publishing system

Idea. Design. Publish. Repeat.

Book ideas

Idea

It starts with you: your passions, your expertise, your art, the things you already know and love. We help you find the idea and the niche and discover if there is a market. I am also a fan of just creating the book that lives inside you, because you never know, there may be other people out there who want it too.

Book ideas

Design

The Book Creators Club is where design led beats word led. Using your favourite design tool, your own designs, our templates, or even AI-supported designs, you make a book that looks professional. Full transparency, I am AI friendly. You do not have to use AI, but I support and share AI strategies and tools inside for the members who want to use them.

Book ideas

Publish

Typically we start with Amazon KDP, the simplest place to go live and the easiest place to launch your book from. I take you through your publishing process, step by step, from account setup to listing and publishing your book. Amazon then prints and ships it for you. From there your books are yours to sell in more places: your own shop, other marketplaces, or direct to your audience using our recommended print-on-demand publishers.

Book ideas

Repeat

Publishing one book is exciting. Publishing a catalogue of books is a business. You do it again, and again, and grow your income month on month. Helping my members to be consistent and to support their publishing journey is what we are all about.  Inside I help with new ideas, share marketing ideas, and help my members to turn their books into profit

I don’t just teach this stuff, I am a regular publisher myself!

and my books are my retirement plan!

What does your publishing journey look like?

Tap the one that sounds most like you, and see where you would start.

Start at the very beginning

A clear path from your first idea to your first book live on Amazon. The templates do the heavy lifting, so you are never staring at a blank page wondering where to start.

Make a book that works for your business

Turn your expertise into a planner, workbook or journal that brings the right people to you. A book that markets you while it sits on a shelf, and gives you something real to point to.

Sell the designs you love making

You already enjoy making things. Learn to turn that into books people buy, with the design led approach the whole club is built on. Less guessing, more creating.

Build books that keep selling

Create a small catalogue of low and medium content books that keep ticking over after the work is done. No big audience required, just steady publishing and the right niches.

Add books to what you already sell

Low and medium content books are quick to produce and slot neatly into an existing range. A natural next product for anyone already selling courses, templates or digital downloads.

Publish faster, and smarter

Already publishing? Get the systems, the market trend reports and the on video reviews to publish with the market rather than against it, and grow a catalogue that holds together.

Are you ready, already?

“I sold 4 copies of my speaker Log & Journal according to KDP. I’m also relaunching my book Delight in the Limelight under my own imprint… All the things I learned to do in this group. So grateful! 🙏”

Linda Ugelow

What is the right pathway for you?

What kind of creator are you?

Your art, your hobbies, your expertise, the products you already sell, research, or simply an idea you would like to bring into existence. Choose the creator that sounds most like you and see what kind of books you can make!

The Artist & Illustrator

For illustrators, fine artists, watercolourists, surface pattern designers and mixed-media artists.

Your superpower

Original artwork no one else can replicate.

What you can create

Colouring books from your own line art, illustrated journals inside and out, children's picture books, pattern colouring books, signature-style collections.

Your head start

Most KDP creators lean on generic clip art. Your art is original, ownable and impossible to copy.

Your first step

Take one piece of your art and turn it into three products. Same art, different books.

Lined, dotted or themed pages people write in every day. The easiest place to start, and endlessly nicheable.Think: a gratitude journal, a travel journal, a five-minute morning journal.
Undated or dated layouts that help people organise their days, goals or projects. Always in demand, especially around the new year.Think: a weekly planner, a meal planner, a business goal planner.
Simple record-keeping books for tracking one specific thing over time. Niche, practical, and often bought in repeat.Think: a blood pressure log, a fishing logbook, a property maintenance log.
Books people pick up for fun and brain-stretching, from word searches to mazes. Loyal, repeat-buying audiences.Think: a large-print word search, a kids' activity book, a sudoku collection.
Pages to colour, for relaxation or for children. A brilliant home for your own art, or for licensed and AI-assisted designs.Think: a botanical colouring book, a mindful patterns book, an animal colouring book for kids.
Guided pages that walk a reader through a process, exercise or course. Perfect if you have knowledge or a method to share.Think: a coaching workbook, a goal-setting workbook, a course companion.
Focused pages for building a habit or monitoring progress at a glance. Small, specific and very giftable.Think: a habit tracker, a savings tracker, a fitness tracker.

“I loved this course – it was both creative and practical and jam packed from beginning to end with useful, step by step tips. Having the templates and the step by step video guides means I can do this again and again now for my business. The only limits now are my imagination! Thank you so much Julie for sharing your passion and your expertise.”

Julie with book
Hi, I’m julie

I’m a book creation addict.

Five years ago I was looking for a way to earn passive income, and I fell into the world of Amazon KDP almost by accident. I started out designing templates for other people to use on their KDP books.  But I enjoyed the process of creating those designs, I couldn’t let them go as I wanted to publish them myself. And fell completely in love with designing and creating books.

There is a special kind of magic about creating something that exists in the real world. Holding a book that you designed, flipping through it, writing inside it, never gets old. Once a book is live, Amazon prints and ships every single order without me having to hold stock. It sells while I sleep, and I love waking up to new book sales in the morning.

And now, creating books and running the Book Creators Club is my full time gig. Many of my members are as addicted to the process as I am!  And if you join us, you might find you are too.  Book publishing should come with a warning 😂.

After Julie shared her brilliant wisdom on me about not getting overwhelmed with the research process, I designed and published 5 notebooks! I’m so thrilled! They’re still in review but OMG I finally did it and it is legit addicting!!!”

What’s inside the Club

Everything you need to start, publish and grow your own book publishing business, in one place.

Please note that I am AI friendly.  I use AI in my business and when designing my own covers and interiors and show others how to do the same.  Using AI ethically is very important to me and I share my philosophy and practices with my members and am open to discussions and differing opinions on this topic.

I want to be transparent about this before you make a choice about whether you want to join, as I know that this matters a lot to some creators.

The KDP Foundations Course

Your complete step-by-step path from idea to published. Follow the steps and you will go from “I have an idea” to a book that is live and selling, even if you have never made one before.

Master the tools, including AI

Step-by-step Canva tutorials plus AI training for design and content. You will learn to make professional books using tools that do the heavy lifting.

Cover Clinics

Submit your books and get direct feedback on your book covers and designs to help you sell them and generate passive income.

Live Q&A's, Co-working, Accountability

Monthly live Q&A and coworking sessions, planning sessions to map your next book, and an accountability space to keep you moving. This is where you get unstuck and actually finish things, alongside people doing the same.

The Book Publishers Toolkit

The tools, trackers and resources that make running your small publishing business easier, gathered in one place so you are not hunting around for what you need.

Masterclasses

Built up a library of fabulous masterclasses from other business owners and relevant topics, from my Consistent Creator training, to marketing on Pinterest to dealing with overwhelm and more.  All designed to support you with your creative and business practices.

Full trainings for every kind of book

Dedicated trainings for journals, planners, activity books, colouring books, coloured journals and notebooks. Whatever you feel like creating, there is a focused walkthrough for that exact book type.

The Template Vault

Hundreds of done-for-you, KDP-safe Canva templates. Start from a professional base instead of a blank screen, and there is always something fresh to publish. New designs released every month.

Personal design reviews

Send your book and get my eyes on it. I review members’ covers and interiors on video, so you get real, specific feedback that lifts your work before you hit publish.

Challenges & Sprints

Three book challenges a year, plus focused mini sprints on the business side: marketing, optimising your Amazon listings, and building your publisher business beyond Amazon.

Beyond Amazon KDP *NEW*

One of the new focuses inside the membership is that we will be looking at publishing on other platforms and other types of books including digital books.  We will also look at direct selling and building your publishing business.

A beautifully supportive community

A friendly, active group of fellow book creators sharing wins, answering questions and cheering each other on. You are building your publishing business with other creative people, not alone.

Don't take my word for it!

This is what the first few weeks inside the club looks like...

I now have 3 books on KDP. I tweaked the second book from a previous book I created. I'm ordering tonight 😊 and I'm officially hooked on the process.

My first notebook just arrived and I have 3 more in review. 💖

My first book is live and I have another 5 in "review" status at the minute!

It's big addictive ✌️💖

I submitted my first 2 notebooks and I think I'm going to submit at least 2 more... and then the "Spanish version" (just saying "cuaderno" instead of "notebook"). Somebody please stop me! 😅😅

So I did a notebook first, like Julie suggested, and I basically just made one I would like and ordered one for myself. I find it pretty amazing. And now, I am sort of hooked, and I can't wait to make so many more.

I totally agree, this is a super actionable program! I had my first notebook created in an afternoon, which felt so HUGE (but really wasn't that much work) 🎉

I completed my Travel Journal and it’s live. I used several of the KDP template pages and it really sped up my creation time, and I used the adult colouring pages and affirmation pages too!

Real comments from real members 😍

You can create just one book OR you can build a publishing business!

The creators who have success with their books are the ones who make it a regular part of their business.  They are the ones who keep publishing, learning and growing: a notebook this week, a planner next month, a journal after that.

Each book is another opportunity to generate income.

The Book Creators Club is to help you on that journey. To help you publish with fresh ideas, challenges and support to keep your momentum going.

“The PayHip training was so helpful for me to create a (free) website for my books — it completely transformed how I felt about my books. I genuinely felt like a publisher rather than one of millions on Amazon.”

Questions

Good to know

What if I don't have design skills?

No problem at all. I take you through everything step by step, and I run over-the-shoulder sessions so you can watch exactly how it is done and follow along.

Do I need to know Canva?

Nope. There is full training on creating your books in Canva from the very basics (and PowerPoint if you prefer). You can use any platform that you are most comfortable with.

Is this for writing a novel or a full-length book?

No. The Club is all about design-led books: journals, planners, puzzle and activity books, colouring books and trackers. If your goal is to write a wordy book or novel, this is not the right fit, though many of our members have gone on to publish one once they understand the process.

What is a low content book?

A book that is mostly structure rather than prose: notebooks, journals, diaries, logbooks and planners. The kind of book people write in.

What is a medium content book?

A book with more on the page, where each page is different, but still design-led: workbooks, activity and puzzle books, colouring books, trivia books and children’s books.

What if I want to create a book but not sell it on Amazon?

Then you are in the right place! The skills and templates work wherever you sell: your own site, Etsy, or print direct. Amazon KDP is simply the easiest place to start, but you are not required to publish on there.

What is a challenge? And do I have to participate?

A challenge is a themed, time-boxed period to help you create a specific kind of book alongside other members. It’s a brilliant way to beat procrastination and actually finish something.  But it is absolutely not required if it doesn’t fit with your schedule or where you want to focus your time.

When are the live calls?

The monthly live calls and a coworking session, usually on the last Tuesday of the month.

How much do I need to spend on tools?

It depends on what you are creating. The tools I use regularly are PowerPoint, Canva, ChatGPT and Claude.

I have another question

No worries!  Email us on team@juliehallonline.com and someone will come back to you within 48 hours.

What do you say? You ready to join?

I love that you made it all the way to the end

If you have read this far, some part of you probably knows that creating a book feels like something you want to do. So here is the gentle nudge: you do not need to be a writer, you do not need to be a designer, and you do not need to work it out alone. Bring your idea. And inside the membership I will help you design it, publish it, and do it all over again if that’s what you want.

I’d love to see you in there!
